Balk, who had previously played for Dutch club Utrecht, signed for Scottish Premiership club Ross County in July 2014.

He made his debut appearance on 16 August 2014, in a 2–1 defeat against Kilmarnock.

The Dutch man's time with the club ended on Thursday 13th November 2014, when it was announced he was one of three player's released by manager Jim McIntyre.
